My Idea of a Good Student
Am I a good student? Every student asks himself this ques-tion. Some students may. have wrong ideas of what a good student is. They think a good student is one who studies all the subjects well and listens to the teachers all the time, but, actually these ones don't care about anything apart from study.
Then what is a good student?
Firstly, he has clear world values. He knows what he should do and what he shouldn't do. He pays respect to teachers and old people?and helps others as much as he can. It doesn't matter how he does in the exam, although this is very important.
Secondly, to learn as much as possible is our responsibility as students. So a good student always tries to learn from both text-books and other books. Besides reading, he also likes sports and enjoys doing manual work. He develops in all-round way.
Thirdly, he has a strong character and~will-power. Because we have troubles every day. How to face the difficulties in study and our lives is very important. A good student won't be afraid of difficulties. He'll always try his best though he knows he may fail. He will never give up.
This is the good student in my eyes. You may have different ideas. But be a good student anyway.

Do school uniforms help curb violence, foster a better learning environment or promote discipline in students? Many people think so and are pushing schools to require them.
Opinions about uniforms and dress codes vary about as much as the reasons for having them -- parents seem to love them and students seem to tolerate them at best. Nevertheless, many schools have jumped on the bandwagon despite students' expressed concerns about their freedom of speech.
Some people believethat a school uniform can improve learningby recing distraction, sharpening focus on schoolwork and making the classroom a more serious environment, allowing students to perform better academically.
Perhaps most importantly, a uniform means students don't have to worry about peer pressure when it comes to their clothes. When everyone is dressed the same, worrying about what you look like isn't so important. There is no competition about being dressed in the latest trend, which would put a great deal of financial pressure on students and parents. Potential bullies have one less target for their insults; it's hard to make fun of what someone is wearing when you're dressed exactly the same.
Uniforms at school also rece the prevalence of violence, which is a major concern for many public schools. Outsiders who do not belong on campus are easily identified, and thus, do not pose a great threat to the students.
