《被风偷走的帽子》

让人犯愁的冬季一个不少准时准晌地来了。我家的灶屋，黑锅底透着锈红的冰渣，水缸裂了缝，结了冰，取水时需用铁锤凿开冰层。做熟饭，母亲往灶灰里放一块红砖，过半个时辰，取出，让我们搂着那块砖头取暖。这个笨办法是母亲的创新发明。可是，这仍然解决不了大问题。我们冷啊！像树巅一片枯萎的黄叶瑟缩颤抖不已。我的手冻了，脚冻了，特别是耳朵，裂了口子，灼心般地疼。脚冻了，母亲给我们的鞋子里垫上温暖而舒适的干草；手冻了，母亲用拆解的旧衣服做护手的棉筒。耳朵怎么办呢？
母亲下定了决心，一定要给我买上一顶棉帽。母亲想要的是那种有耷耳、里子披绒的棉帽。那年冬天，母亲就无数次说过：“要是有一顶棉帽就好了。”一顶棉帽对于一个穷人的家庭是奢侈的，母亲没有钱去买一顶棉帽。这事就搁着，一直到与冬天的再一次重逢。其实，那顶帽子并没有因为随后春天的来临，把母亲的愿望打消掉，相反，却像一粒生命力极为顽强的种子，经春历夏，更加枝繁叶茂起来。
母亲把攒下的零零毛毛和借来的布票小心翼翼地用手帕包好，面带笑容，吩咐我说：“走，去买帽子。”到供销社有七八里地，母亲不空着手，背上竹筐，经过野地时，顺便拾些做饭的柴禾。我扯着母亲的衣角，高兴地随在后面。
母亲捧着棉帽走出来，瞅了瞅天边的阴云，愣了一下。她忽然觉察售货员似乎算错了账目，少找了钱。母亲迅速地把灰手帕盖在装满竹筐的柴禾上，棉帽轻轻放上去。母亲急转身，奔进了供销社。
母亲再次出来时，棉帽不翼而飞。
帽子的丢失让母亲大为震惊，喘着粗气大声斥责，帽子呢？咱们的帽子呢？你把它藏哪儿了？我胆怯地说不出话来。我一直蜷缩在竹筐旁边，我没有感觉到帽子是怎样长腿跑掉了，只知道一阵大风吹来，吹得脸麻麻的，我用衣襟护着自己的眼。
母亲喊我：“你撒尿去了？”我摇摇头。
“你一直在这？”我点点头。
“有人来过？”我不点头，也不摇头。我实在是记不起来了，疑惧地看着母亲扭曲变形的脸。
母亲疯了似的。
“谁拿了帽子……谁拿走我们的帽子……”
没有人应答。母亲见一个人问一个人，没有人知道那顶帽子的去处。母亲似乎觉察出什么——那顶帽子再也不会回来，帽子被人偷了。既然被人偷了，谁还肯拿出来归还它的主人呢？除非那人像母亲一样疯了。
母亲开始用最难听的话发泄自己的愤懑。字字句句都是投向空中的炸雷。整个世界都不存在了，只有母亲一个人在挣扎，母亲的脸像是藏了一只受了惊吓的小兽，不住地颤抖。母亲的嗓子哑了，喊声弱下去，剩下哭泣声和寒风纠缠着，撕扯着。吹乱的头发上沾满了草屑，衣襟上的扣子掉了，花裤带蛇一样地垂下来。母亲的那个样子俨然是得理不要命的泼妇。母亲是一个矮小瘦弱的女人，向来是温顺的，连说话都是慢声细语、小声小气，母亲异常的举止让我想到隐藏着的人性的另一面。后来，母亲回忆起这件事，也总是说，怎么会那个样子？她不会轻易地提到这件事，母亲是要忘记这件事。不轻易地提及这件事，并不能说明她已经把这件事遗忘。
围拢的人多了。大家疑虑母亲精神有毛病，有人建议掐人中，有人嚷着扇耳光，还有人提出送镇卫生所。母亲反抗着每一双伸过来的手。
正在左右为难的时候，有人喊，那不是帽子吗？
帽子静悄悄地躲在道坡子下面的灌木棵子旁边，无动于衷地仰着脸瞅着这一群人，也安然地瞅着母亲。母亲瘸着腿走出人群，下了道坡，拾起那顶帽子。母亲把帽子戴到我的头上，压了压帽顶，又正了正帽沿。背起竹筐，把我抱起来，谁也不理会，踏着人们的目光，渐渐走远。一路上，母亲搂着我，很紧很紧，仿佛我就是那顶容易被风偷走的帽子……
母亲没有陪伴我走完少年的时光，就急匆匆地一个人踏上了那条不归的旅程。有时候，我总是默默地想，如果母亲在，家会是别一番景象。但，那是怎样的景象，我又想像不出来。即使想了很多，即使梦了很多，都是徒劳，只是增加一份无奈的牵念。关于母亲的往事很多，独拿出这一件来，表达我对母亲的思念。清明节，在母亲坟旁，遍插柳枝，为母亲的坟培上新土，我还不会忘记折一顶纸帽，放在祭品边侧。我知道，母亲会在天堂惦念着儿女，她看到帽子，就收到了儿女们的来信，她就会放下悬着的一颗心，默默为儿女祈祷……
